The BTE model is the oldest model still existing today.
It is an easy-to-handle, powerful and efficient hearing aid. It is composed of three parts: the earmold that fits into the ear canal, a hearing aid containing the electronic components that fits comfortably behind the ear canal and finally a tube that connects the whole to direct the sound to the ear canal.

Some of these models are available with rechargeable battery technology and most are also compatible with wireless communication systems for easy TV and phone listening.
