How to care for your hearing aids
1) Clean the surface of the unit
When you remove your devices, take the time to clean them to remove any earwax that may have settled on them. Simply use a cloth, paper towel or tissue, and wipe your dentures dry.
You can also use disinfectants specially designed for hearing aids. If so, spray a small amount of the solution onto a tissue and wipe your hearing aid clean.
For optimum maintenance, clean daily.
2) Occasionally change the filter
It's a good idea to change the filter on your devices after a few months. Each hearing aid has different types of filter, which are supplied to you at the time of purchase.
To change the filter, simply use the little stick provided - remove the old filter with one end, and insert the new one with the other. You can then dispose of all the material.
3) Protect the device from moisture
If you live in a rather damp area, you can buy a moisture-proof case for overnight storage. Simply place the hearing aid in the cup with the special capsule.
Don't forget to switch off the device and remove the battery!
4) Place the unit in its case
If you don't have a moisture problem, you should still remove your hearing aids for the night, and place them in their case. Don't forget to open the battery door when storing your hearing aids.
